Maintenance of portable fire Extinguishers

Extinguishers should be regularly checked by the nominated person to make sure that appliances are in their proper position and have not been tampered with. They should also be routinely inspected by a competent service technician to ensure they have not been discharged or lost pressure annually and every 5 years.
Fire Extinguisher commissioning
All extinguishers should be subject to commsioning on initial installation / positioning. The commissioning of an extinguisher will be carried out by a competent person prior to placing it in its designated place whilst taking into account the safety precautions.

After successfully commissioning extinguishers

We will install / position the relevant extinguishers in its conspicuous position, available at all times for immediate use.

They will be securely hung on wall brackets where possible or placed on a stand etc.
